Acts Full Gospel Church Celebrates 30 Years of Ministry
Some of the biggest names in the Church of God in Christ came to Oakland last weekend to help Bishop Bob Jackson and the Acts Full Gospel Church of God in Christ family celebrate their 30-year anniversary.
During the 4 day celebration attendees enjoyed free concerts and testimonies from gospel legends which included Shirley Caesar, Rance Allen, Marvin Sapp, Beverly Crawford, Pastor Matthew Brown, and Tasha Cobbs.
Bishop Jackson answered the call to ministry in 1984. The church, which began with 13 members studying from the Book of Acts, has since grown to more than 7500 members with 30 ministries. Located in the heart of East Oakland at 1034 66th Ave, the church also opened a school, Acts Christian Acdemy, Soul’s Restaurant, Soul’s, a clothing store, a men’s rehabilitation center, a women’s home, and a senior center.
He also has worked to establish multiple community organizations including the Pastors of Oakland and the Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce.
“Without the help of God and the community’s support we never could have achieved so much,” he said. “Our mission is to take the world for the Lord Jesus Christ with solid Bible teaching.”
