A man is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly drug dealing and possessing a large amount of fentanyl, announced the San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.

23-year-old David Diaz-Morazan was taken into custody on Tuesday after San Francisco police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency allegedly seized 11 pounds of fentanyl and 95.8 grams of methamphetamine at an Oakland residence.

Officers said they also discovered a hydraulic press, packing materials and heavy-duty respirators.

Diaz-Morazan is now federally charged with two counts of possession for selling drugs, one count of maintaining a place to sell drugs, one count for the sale of fentanyl and three counts for the sale of methamphetamine.

“The criminal justice system needs to recognize that drug dealing is a serious crime,” said Jenkins in a statement.  “Communities are under siege by rampant, open-air drug dealing and we must do everything we can to protect public safety and ensure that there are consequences for suspected drug dealers.”

Diaz-Morazan also faces charges for allegedly selling drugs to an undercover police officer on April 3, 4 and 11. If he is convicted of all charges, he faces over nine years in state prison.

Diaz-Morazan’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 10. He remains in custody with no bail set.
