Rev. Gregory Hunter was recently installed as the Senior Pastor of Olivet Missionary Baptist Church.

Hunter accepted his call to ministry in 1989 and preached his first sermon at Berkeley Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Under the mentorship of Bishop Gordon Humphrey, Hunter nurtured and sharpened his preaching, teaching, and leadership skills. As Humphrey transitioned to Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Hunter became Staff Pastor of Olivet in 2011.

For the past three years, Rev. Hunter has served the congregation with love and compassion, witnessing spiritual growth in the lives of all who attend. To ensure effective ministry, he recently enrolled into Faith Evangelical College and Seminary and is pursuing a B.A. in Pastoral Leadership and Counseling.

Also a renowned musician, Hunter has worked with numerous gospel greats including James Cleveland, Darryl Coley, Walter & Edwin Hawkins, Eugene Cole & Persuaded and Lawrence Matthews. He also produced Olivet’s first recording project, “Sunday Night Live.”

Olivet MBC is located at 1125 West Street. Services are held every Sunday at 11:30am. Bible study, called the GYM –Growing Your Mind – is held every Tuesday at 7:30.
