The National Newspapers Publishers Association (NNPA)conference at the JW Marriott Hotel Resort and Spa in Las Vegas fostered many partnerships to fight disparities in all sectors impacting African-Americans and those in the African diaspora.
With over 300 media professional in attendance representing 200 plus black media outlets across the country, attendees engaged in sessions on the state of Black America, educational initiatives, presentations and inspirational words from NNPA Chairman Dorothy Leavell, NNPA President and CEO Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis Jr. and NAACP President Derrick Johnson.
The atmosphereprompted many publishers to find ways to work closer together to build their networks and create opportunities for their communities.
San Francisco Post Publisher, Paul Cobb was proud to announce joining forces with San Francisco Sun Reporter Publisher Amelia Ashley Ward in jointly advocating for Black and Brown communities. Both media leaders, with a history of standing up for the Black community and people of color, are committed to continuing the fight for equality and defeat the historic injustices and more current disparities inflamed by the current administration.
The San Francisco Post and the Sun Reporter vow to be a platform of hope and planned action reflecting the sentiment echoed at the NNPA: “We are better together.”
