Matt Barnes Headed Back To Warriors

It was the 2006-2208 season when Matt Barnes last donned a Golden State Warriors uniform along side Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson. Yesterday, the former Kings player took to his Instagram to post that he is returning to the Warriors after Kevin Durant suffered a left hyperextended knee in the teams 112-108 loss to the Washington Wizards yesterday.
Today Golden State confirmed that Durant will be out indefinitely due to a sprained MCL and a bone bruise on his left leg. He will be evaluated in four weeks. In the meantime, Barnes has an opportunity to become a defensive threat in Durant’s absence. In what has been an MVP season for Durant will be put on hold.
In order to make room for Barnes, the Warriors will no longer sign Jose Calderon. No need to hit the panic button. The original cast which includes Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green is enough to hold things down until Durant returns.
