Tangie Leverett Becomes First Black President of Contra Costa Realtors Association

The Contra Costa Association of Realtors held its annual inaugural celebration at the Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville on Jan. 11, 2020.
Tangie Leverett was sworn in as president of the 4,000-member Realtor Association marking a historic and milestone event for the organization.
Prior to Leverett, no African-American has held the position of president at CCAR in its 99-year history. She has been actively involved as a Realtor in the real estate brokerage profession since 1997 and has participated and provided service to the industry at the local, state and national levels.
Along with serving as the president of the Contra Costa Association of Realtors, Leverett also serves as a state director for the California Association of Realtors where she has held various committee positions since 2005.
At the gala inaugural event, Tyra Wright, another African American woman and Realtor, was sworn in as a member of the CCAR Board of Directors where she and Leverett will be serving together.
During the presentation part of the program, 40-year real estate veteran Jeffrey Wright was presented with the Contra Costa Association of Realtors 2019 Realtor of the Year Award.
