POST TV: Remembering Trayvon

A public outcry of justice has surged through the nation after George Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges related to the killing of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin. Cities across the nation have protested and marched demanding federal and civil charges be brought against Zimmerman.
Hundreds of Bay Area residents gathered in Oakland three consecutive days and marched through the streets of the city to protest the ‘not-guilty’ verdict. Carrying signs that read ‘Justice for Trayvon’, ‘Shame on America’, and ‘End the Violence on Black Men’, protestors were determined to show their frustrations and disappointments in America’s Justice system.
Trayvon’s parents, Sabrina Fulton and Tracy Martin spoke publicly for the first time since the verdict Thursday morning on CBS’ “This Morning” show, expressing their “shock” and “disgust” with Zimmerman’s acquittal.
“I thought surely that he would be found guilty of second-degree murder,” Fulton said.
Martin spoke on his faith, the healing process, and how they are working towards finding “peace and strength to be forgiving parents” he said.
“There’s no winner in this situation,” he added.
